💁🏻 Concept: Personal Eschatology

Personal eschatology is the study of what the Bible teaches about the future of each individual—what happens after death, in the intermediate state (between death and resurrection), and ultimately in glorification. Death is not the end, but a doorway. Believers immediately enter God’s presence, awaiting the resurrection of the body and final glorification. Unbelievers face judgment and eternal separation. This doctrine reminds us that eternity is real and personal. Our time on earth is short, but our spirits are eternal—so we live today in light of forever.

📖 Bible Readings: 2 Corinthians 5:8

(Philippians 1:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:6-10; Hebrews 2:14-15, 9:27; Luke 16:22-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Romans 8:30; Revelation 21:1-4; Luke 12:15; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Matthew 6:19-21, 16:26)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:

1. To depart from the body is to be with Christ.

2. People who died wait in the intermediate state.

3. Believers must live in light of eternity with God.

💪🏼 Applications:

1. Use your remaining time on earth to serve God.

2. Reach out to your family members and friends.

3. Face death with courage and excitement.

🎙Discussion:

How should we prepare to face death with courage and excitement?

Alternative questions:

1. What have you learned from this devotion?

2. How can you practically apply our devotion?

🙏🏼 Prayer:

Eternal God, thank You that my future is in Your hands. I know that one day I will leave this world, but because of Jesus, I do not fear death. You have promised life beyond the grave—life in Your presence and a glorious resurrection to come. Help me to live today in light of that promise. Keep my heart anchored in heaven, even as I walk through earth’s trials. Let me use my days wisely, love others deeply, and serve You faithfully until I see You face to face. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
