💁🏻 Concept: Old Testament Theology

Old Testament theology is the study of the teachings found in the individual books and authors of the Old Testament. It explores how each message fits into God’s unfolding plan across history. Far from being outdated, the Old Testament provides the foundation of God’s redemptive work—leading all the way to Jesus Christ.

📖 Bible Readings: Luke 24:27

(Genesis 1:26-28, 3:15; 12:1-3; Exodus 3:14-15; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Psalm 110:1; Isaiah 9:6-7; Jeremiah 31:31-34)

👨🏻‍💻 Teachings:

1. The Old Testament tells us the original plan.

2. The Old  Testament explains to us the problem.

3. The Old Testament promises us the solution.

💪🏼 Applications:

1. Turn to God’s original plan through Jesus.

2. Trust God’s plan with patience and endurance.

3. Trace the story of Jesus throughout the Old Testament.

Up Next: Genealogy of Jesus

🎙Discussion:

Why is it important to trust God’s plan with patience and endurance?

Alternative questions:

1. What have you learned from this devotion?

2. How can you practically apply our devotion?

🙏🏼 Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank You for the depth and richness of the Old Testament. It reveals who You are, what You have done, and how You work through history to bring salvation. Teach me to value every part of Your Word, not just the familiar ones. Help me see Jesus more clearly as I read the stories, prophecies, and promises You gave long ago. Strengthen my faith as I connect the pieces of Your great plan. May I never neglect the wisdom and wonder of the Old Testament. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
