The Rupertsland Métis Student Association’s Shakamohta is back with the first episode of Season 2!

Our student-led podcast celebrates the traditions and innovations of the Métis community.

This episode is hosted by returning student Drew Desjarlais (she/her) to welcome special guest Just Glue (they/them), to talk about the artistry of Métis drag. Just Glue is Two-Spirit, Franco-queer, a drag performer and a designer, as well as a self-described oddball queen, with a bonkers sense of humor and even more eccentric references.

Originally from Manitoba but now located in lovely Edmonton, they have been slaying drag since 7 years old for a whole 11 years now! Just Glue also appeared at RLI’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Gathering on April 11-12 during the Charity Drag Show.

The Michif word of the day is: nipahew meaning “slay”. Learn more about Michif here: https://www.metismuseum.ca/michif_tools.php
