Rupertsland Institute presents Shakamohta, a student-led podcast. Shakamohta [shack-ah-moe-tah] is a Heritage Michif word meaning "connect," and this podcast is all about connection, community, and culture. 

In today's special Métis Week episode, host Jory Proft  interviewed renowned Métis fiddler Alex Kusturok about his experiences growing up engrossed with Métis music, his projects, and fiddling for the Pope.

Our Michif Word of the Day is nahtoohta [nah-toe-ta] which translates to "listen" in  in English. nahtoohta is from the Heritage Michif dialect.
