The hosts of Shakamohta discuss the significance of women in the Métis community, both historic and currently. Through interviews with our own moms, we explore lessons on motherhood and the legacy of the important women in our lives. We are also joined by Kate Gillis as she highlights her Master's thesis work focused on the underrepresentation of Métis women in 18th and 19th-century St. François Xavier, Manitoba and how her own understanding of the Métis women of her life led her to this challenging topic.
