In Episode 10 of the Running Industry Podcast we talk to podcasting royalty as we speak to one of the hosts of Marathon Talk, Martin Yelling.

Marathon Talk began in 2010 and is the UK’s number one running podcast. Released every week the show has had over 10 million downloads with listeners across the world.

Martin is a lifelong runner and loves the freedom, exploration, physical and mental health benefits of running.

A former international runner, elite duathlete and triathlete he’s finished the Hawaii Ironman and completed the Comrades Ultra. He also ran 260miles, 50,000ft of elevation in 7 days along the South West Coast Path but couldn’t finish the full 630mile route! (this is an ongoing joke on the MT podcast, esp with co-host Holly Rush).

Martin is married to two-time Olympic marathon runner and Commonwealth medallist Liz Yelling and together they run endurance sports consultancy Yelling Performance. He holds a PhD in physical activity promotion and is an experienced endurance coach, writer, presenter and is a Dad to three children.

Martin is also one of the founders of Stormbreak, a charity looking to improve children’s mental health through movement, equipping them with sustainable, transferable skills and coping strategies to thrive during the complex demands of growth into adult life.
