I started running diary in November 2003, my late and great friend Neil Anthony told me it would be a great way to motivate myself as I began the buildup to my first marathon in October 2005 in Amsterdam alongside Neil and his wife Christine.
Since then in an old A4 Hardback notebook I've logged every outdoor run, whether that be race or training run and latterly park runs.
By the end of 2019 I was up to 971 and about three weeks ago I did run number 1000, it turned out to be among the lunchtime training run in the rain, and at the time I didn't realise it was run number 1000.
In this episode therefore I'm sharing with you some of the highlights and also encouraging you to keep a running diary.
