Now that I'm starting to date, I'm kinda scared...

I’m starting to go out on dates. That’s a good thing as I need practice and am meeting some really nice people. At the same time, I’m scared to death. Scared that if I actually find “the one” that my life will change.

This might sound strange, but I’ve gotten into a groove. I know what I’m doing, I do what I want, etc. If I find “the one” then it will change to we and compromise.

That doesn’t mean that we won’t have our own unique spaces, rather a coming together always means compromise.

This is good as long as we are both enhanced by one another.

Am I overthinking this as I’ve only had first dates?

100% yes!

I’m out of my comfort zone…and that’s good. Comfort zones are where people go to die. I want to live and continue to grow.

I keep reminding myself that my goal of dating at this point is practice and having fun with another person. Not just being a friend with a female, but having the potential of a deeper, more intimate relationship. I think of all the fun things I’d like to do with a partner, like travel, hang out, eat ice cream together, even go shopping together.

We’ll see how things evolve.
