In Their Words: Celebrating National Volunteer Week

#45: This week we celebrate National Volunteer Week and say an enormous “Thank You!” to the folks who generously and selflessly give back to our communities, contributing to making this a world we live in a better one for us all. In this episode we asked previous podcast guests to share the impact of their own volunteer experience: 

• Kelvin (Episode 22): Volunteering fosters a space where “Connection is the cure,” 
• Jamen (Episode  7): Volunteering is a way to find like-minded sober people, no matter where you move, 
• Gabi (Episode 11): Volunteering helps her spread light and hope to her community, 
• Holly (Episode 13): Volunteering is a key part of her recovery and gave her a support system that she taps into everyday 
• Jaclyn: It is a gift to work with volunteers and help them bring Phoenix alive in other communities. They show that sobriety can be creative, connection, and fun! 
• Liz: Volunteering sparked self worth that was missing, and supported her recovery in immeasurable ways,  
• Bryce: Volunteering allows us to contribute to a space and community we believe in, to give back to others on the same journey. 

Once you have attended at least one Phoenix event you gain access to a volunteer application through the mobile app. Everyone has something to offer, and there is always a need for your unique contribution.
