This usually ruffles a few feathers, but it needs to be said.
We've gone too far in our obsession of telling people their feelings are always right. Most people put zero effort into learning how to process, evaluate, or understand their emotions. So why do we assume they always get it right?
It's probably true that they are feeling that emotion, so it's REAL. But valid and real are not the same thing.
When you validate an inaccurate emotion, you are lying to that person. Stop being a liar and be helpful instead.
