If you infer intent behind someone's words or actions, it's your resounding responsibility to get clarity or be accountable for the results of your actions afterwards.
This happens so frequently. You assume intent, then get angry and make a poor decision. When it goes sideways and you find out you were wrong, you're not owed an apology for your wrong feelings.
The opposite is true. You OWE an apology for acting on an impulse you didn't get clarity on.
No excuses!
