The quickest way to improve something is to be able to measure some aspect.
For something athletic, that's pretty easy. For mental gains, you need to be a little more creative.
For instance, my runs are easy to see progress. For my mental gains during the runs, I can note how many times I needed to give myself a pep talk. When I first started this running journey, it was CONSTANT! Today, it was only a few times while I was really pushing my limits.
That can be another thing to note as well. I was good when I was steady in my comfort zone and only needed to talk to myself once I started getting towards my capacity.
No excuses!
