Adding runs into your training is a great way to really work on your mind.
I know that doesn't make sense on the surface, lol.
Here's what I mean. Set a time or distance, and don't stop until you hit the goal. Maybe you need to go slower or walk at times. Just don't stop for the day until you hit the goal.
You will battle your own mind so many times during that run! My thoughts and emotions are all over the place. One minute, I'm elated and going strong. The next, I'm dying and can't continue. Then I'm excited because I'm still going. Then I bargain with myself about when it's alright to slow down. Then I talk myself into going faster for a bit...
You see, your mind is insane! But when you're done, the volume of highlights you now have to pull from showing yourself you can overcome difficulties is massive!
