I heard this line today, and it made me really think.

Think about yourself as a company, an entity with a future value. How much would you invest to make rust worth more?

If you aren't willing to spend money to improve yourself, to make yourself more valuable with your knowledge, skills, or abilities, then why would you expect anyone else to pay you more?

You can say the same about the value you add to your community, your family, etc.

Are you capable of defending them? Are you capable of providing for them?

Invest in yourself, and you won't need to think about these answers anymore.
