Hot take... generational trauma is a lie.

It's just another label and excuse given to you so you don't have to be responsible for your own life and your own decisions.

If you are aware enough to tell people about your families troubles... then you are choosing to be complicit in continuing the habits and decision making that leads to the same results.

YOU CAN CHOOSE TO BE DIFFERENT! You just don't. Maybe you like the pity and sympathy that comes with it. Maybe you really believe the liars that tell you how you can't change. Or maybe you really are lazy and love to make excuses.

Either way, you always have choices. Are you willing to be different?
