Listen, things happen. And most of the time, you had a part in it, too.

That was my story today. I mixed up my race bibs and didn't get my official 5k time at first.

I owned the mistake and asked the guy humbly and with humility if there was anything he could do to help me out.

He said he could go back and check it on the video feed. I told him what I believed the time was to make it easier for him and thanked him.

He said it might be a few hours to a day, but he ended up doing it in about 5 minutes. Why? I don't know for sure, but I do believe it was because I was respectful and grateful.

No excuses!
