I really don't agree that comparison is the thief of joy.
If you never compare yourself to anything, how do you know if what you're doing is working?
At some point, you have to compare things.
The real issue is that you believe the outcome or goal is going to make you feel some kind of way. That's faulty thinking, because that only lasts for a few minutes after you've achieved the thing.
The process is where you should tie your emotions. Fall is love with and compare the process to success. That's where life is really lived anyway. You will ALWAYS spend more time preparing for the thing than you will doing the thing.
Fall in love with the process and keep going. You will not believe how far you can go if you just keep working!
