I almost messed up my run today by not listening to my system.
It's easy to get in the mode that every time you need to do better than last time.
But that's not always possible. The better you get, the less you will improve each time, too.
Today was one of those days for me. I tried to out work my weakend nervous system, but that wasn't working.
Instead, I was forced to stop a few times before just admitting the speed was too much for the nervous system today.
The best part is, once I lowered the speed to what my system was capable of today, I was able to finish the run and feel great about it. I gained all the same benefits, and then some, too.
My ego could have gotten me hurt if I didn't have the skill to be able to check it on the fly.
No excuses!
