Rewilding In Action - 07 - Knocking Back the Grass

Rewilding and herbicides aren't seen as natural bedfellows. However botanist Associate Professor Janice Lord has found that using a grass-specific herbicide in certain places on dense grass has helped to kick-start natural native forest regeneration. In this episode I visit Janice on her north-facing coastal farm at Kuri Bush south of Dunedin City where she and her partner are rewilding a forest gully and streams. Join Janice as she shares her knowledge about the rare plants popping up, as well as her excitement about the re-gravelling of the stream bed after the October flood.
