Building out waste - construction and demolition waste in Ōtepoti - The mountain of waste from construction and demolition is a noticeable concern in Ōtepoti. As a city of waste minimisers and DIY’ers, reclaiming materials is highly desirable. How can we, and the city, reduce, resume and rethink the waste elements of construction and demolition? In this episode, we welcome Karen Gadomski, the DCC’s advisor who has been working across the sector looking at the production, consumption and disposal of materials used in construction and demolition to find new pathways for reuse and recycling of materials.
