Maureen spent her childhood raised by her grandmother in rural Kenya, before living in Dublin, Michigan and now Belfast. One constant throughout her life has been her faith, but over time she has struggled to reconcile the prejudiced views of her congregation and extended family with her own advocacy for racial justice and self-acceptance.
