CS-Light: a new energy-saving smart lighting system for optimised light control

LED lighting provides brighter, lower-power, longer lasting illumination than traditional lighting systems, and can be programmed to change color and brightness instantaneously. Despite this, lighting in smart buildings still consumes a significant amount of energy.

Professor Archan Misra and fellow researchers at Singapore Management University look at the development of a smart lighting control system, CS-Light, designed specifically for open-floor indoor layouts, such as offices, collaborative workspaces and campuses.
