MARK 8:31-38

The 40 days of Lent come to us with the reminder: we are dust. 

In the gospel passage, we’re faced with the question, “What does it profit you to gain the whole world, but lose your soul?”; “What are you focusing on, and where are you heading?” Jesus asks us these questions in the most direct way, but it’s always within the context of the safest relationship.
