The 2013 documentary Finding Vivian Maier explores the life of revolutionary Chicago street photographer Vivian Maier. A notorious recluse, Maier excelled in the art world and received massive acclaim upon her death because of a chance discovery of her work. 

But Maier’s life deviates from the conventional idea of artistic aspiration: Why didn’t she share her work for the world to see?
