Beep beeple beep. What sound does a neglected keychain baby make? Come and distract yourself through Omicronstmas with another relic from decades past…the humble Tamagotchi! Despite most kids burying theirs in the back of junk drawer after raising a few underwhelming “kuchitamatchi” well before the days of Y2k, Bandai has continued laying the alien-egg babies to an insatiable fanbase since the late 90s. (Did you know it spawned SEVERAL tv shows?) Em leads us down memory lane (while Kait wanders off on a few loosely-related sidetracks), tells us the conflicting origin story and we discuss the “tamagotchi effect”. In the Tamagotchi-spirit of gentle amusement and busy-work, we present to this nice, fluffy, stocking-stuffer of an episode.
