Heart disease is the number one killer not only in America but in the entire world. However, if detected and treated on time, these diseases and heart conditions can be reversed through proper diet, exercising, and reducing the effects of stress. Our guest, Dr. Raj Anand, is the living proof of it. After living long years under a lot of pressure and stress in his professional environment, he started feeling a little discomfort in the chest, especially under cold weather, which studies revealed was a coronary disease. He wasn't satisfied with the bibliography he found on dieting to prevent coronary diseases, so he designed his own and got considerably better.

Dr. Raj is a retired Associate Professor and Emeritus Educator in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is also an author; he published "A Practical Approach to EKG Interpretation" and "Healthy Diet And Mindfulness to Prevent Coronary Heart Disease." He invented the Thermo-electric Angioplasty Catheter and served as a Director of Coronary Care Unit, Director Non-invasive Cardiovascular Laboratories, and Director at Cardiovascular Research Laboratory.

We had a fantastic conversation about proper diet to prevent heart disease and enhance our overall health, good and bad carbs, good and bad fat, and what kind of chocolate is good for our health. Dr. Raj kindly shared tons of valuable nuggets about exercising and meditation, and he highlighted the importance of reducing the effects of stress.
