ENERGY – FOCUS - TIME

ENERGY: If you have the energy to establish a success routine and desire to do so, but you do not have enough focus or you do not allocate time to work on what is required, you will end up looking like a squirrel on caffeine in the middle of the road. Looking in every direction but unsure of where to go and feeling pressured because you have not MADE the time to do what is necessary, first.

FOCUS: If you have the ability to FOCUS and work through your tasks undistracted, that is good. However, if you do not take initiative to motivate and energize yourself, you will grow weary and potentially lose interest. Furthermore, if you do not carefully plan out what you must do each day to create a well-managed success routine, time will always get away from you and you will become frustrated. 

TIME: If you are excellent at planning and allocating time to do the things you know need to be done in priority order, you are bound to make some progress. However, without consistently generating the right energy while maintaining a laser-like focus, your efforts in time management will likely fall flat.

We must balance all three equally in order to triumph over our old habits, tendencies and patterns which have defeated us in the past. The remainder of this chapter and subsequent chapters are devoted to three components above. There are also plenty of tools, hacks and insights you can adopt in establishing the best routine for you.

ENERGY VAMPIRES

According to a study of 540 business leaders by Fast Company:

·        82% were found not working at optimal energy levels 

·        61% recognized they were working well below their best energy levels

·        21% stated that they were working above their best energy levels
