#12 - CONFIDENCE

Confidence is the stuff that greatness is made of. It is being willing to take risks; it is standing firm on what you believe in; it is not being afraid to become the person you were created to be. Confidence gives us the courage to step out beyond ourselves and pursue our dreams. To live in the moment and remain authentic in whom we truly are. It is dancing in the rain or singing in the middle of a crowd. When someone is confident and clear about their core values and comfortable in their own skin, we desire to follow them. 

It is a deception to believe that some are born with confidence and others are not. All of us have the ability and the obligation to become confident in who we are. All of us should make it a priority to work on our confidence levels, daily. 

What is the process? 

As written throughout this book, the process is in our daily routine. It is formed in our thoughts, our hearts and seared upon our subconscious each day, from the moment we open our eyes to the time we close them at night. A few questions to ask yourself:

  1. What is my inner dialogue upon waking in the morning?
  2. How do I speak to and about myself, internally and externally, throughout the day? 
  3. Do I offer myself the same grace and empathy that I do when others fail or make mistakes?
  4. Am I willing to step out of my “comfort zone” to meet new faces, take risks and just be who I am created to be?
  5. Do I spend time each day increasing my gifts, talents and knowledge to better myself?

We should be asking ourselves these questions and more, every day. If we fail to do so, we create a chasm in our “inner-person”, an emptiness, a feeling of unworthiness which is the root of ill-confidence.
