Vain, right?

Well.  It is what it is.  But we all need words of affirmation from time to time, some more than others. Does that make us damaged? Maybe.  Does that matter? Nope.

When you feel unworthy - words of affirmation is important.  Especially if your self esteem is down.  And people do some crazy things in the name of self-esteem... am I right?
