Peter’s first sermon mentions the resurrection of Christ. In this session we examine Peter’s message about our hope in the resurrection. Peter quotes King David and shows how David spoke of bodily resurrection as a blessed hope. We can live today in hope because Jesus rose from the dead.

Baptism and forgiveness of sins are also mentioned in Acts 2:38, which has been a much-discussed verse in many Christian circles. This session goes into detail about what we are baptized for and whether baptism is a condition or a result of our forgiveness and salvation.

  • Can Christians truly live in hope today? Why?
  • What does it mean to repent?
  • Should we baptize “in the name of Jesus” or “in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?”
  • What is baptism for and why are we baptized?
  • At what point are we saved?
