God's Prophet Confronts Moral Depravity (Matthew 14:1-12) - Session 28

John the Baptist has his head delivered on a platter because of the depravity of the ruling family. John knew he was in the will of God, yet he loses his life because of his ministry.  Being God’s prophet, John speaks against the moral actions of a political leader, which is a question for our day.  Jesus called John the greatest prophet and John spoke directly about the actions of secular leadership. We take a look at all the players in the political leadership. In Herod, the lust of the eyes results in a great immoral act. 

·         Can bad things happen even if we are in God’s will?

·         Should Christians speak about the moral actions of political leaders? 

·         What should we do if we need to give a difficult message to a powerful person in authority?

·         Does morality change over time?
