Are You the King of the Jews? (Matthew 27:11-31) - Session 59

The Jewish leaders take Jesus to the Roman governor Pilate trying to get Jesus killed. Pilate asks Jesus “Are you the King of the Jews?”  Each of us must answer the question of whether Jesus is king. Pilate tries his best to avoid dealing with Jesus but is forced by the crowd to order Jesus to die.  

The people around Jesus all seem to have a lot of power, but in reality Jesus is the one in control, moving the events toward His death on the cross.   

• Why would Jesus not defend Himself at His trial?
• Who is in control at Jesus’ trial?
• Do leaders have the courage to do what is right? 
• Is it difficult to be strong in trying circumstances?
