Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!

Thank you so much for joining me again!

Happy Tuesday!

This week's theme for the podcast is: Personal Boundaries

Personal boundaries are key is establishing & maintaining stability within mental health. Knowing how to create & maintain boundaries are also skills that will become invaluable & crucial to daily happiness & self-acceptance.

Here are some great ideas on how to create, improve & maintain Personal Boundaries!

Here are some notes from today's episode:

  • If you are a People Pleaser like me, you KNOW it’s super tough to say ‘no’. Like, almost impossible. And if you DO say ‘no’ you are EASILY convinced otherwise.
  • And sometimes you might think you don’t need to say ‘no’ because you actually really want to do something, be involved & participate, but it’s important to know our bandwidth and what we can actually do & what will be good for us.
  • It’s a little easier to say ‘no’ to things you don’t want to do, but for things that have your interest, a struggle can with it.
  • Just make the decision that will be best for you & your mental health.
  • Make sure you are evaluating whether you have the resources, mentally or physically, to participate in whatever it is.
  • In addition to saying ‘no’ it’s just important to know that it’s okay to turn things down, walk away from uncomfortable situations & make the best choice for you.
  • Some examples: Feel free to leave situations that may be harmful to you, physically or mentally.
  • Know it’s ok to not need to change, fix or rescue others from difficult problems, even if they really want your assistance. This may not be a healthy situation for you to be involved with.
  • In addition to this, remember that others are not responsible for your feelings, joy, happiness. Even if they are trying to take up that job & burden (yes, it’s a burden), do not let them. That is not their responsibility & you shouldn't let it be.
  • Remember you are allowed to have your own personal space and privacy. You do not have to let anyone in if it will be too damaging to you. But remember to keep balance between privacy & having relationships where some things are shared.
  • And, as a random note, it’s a good idea to say ‘no’ to gossip and talking behind people’s backs. You wouldn’t want it done to you so don’t do it to others.
