Creating a routine may not sound like a ton of fun, but it's so helpful in being more efficient with everything you want & need to do. It also helps you achieve your goals easier & with more focus. And let's not forget how it cuts back on stress & chaos.
Show Notes:
I am that person that really needs a routine to stay focused & feel accomplished during the day. I can honestly say that I struggle with getting as many things possible done without a routine. It keeps me in the flow & acts like a transition from one section of my day to the next.
And when I talk about routine I am not talking only about a morning routine that helps you get the day started, but also routines that happen in the middle of the day, end of day routines, specific self-care routines, routines you use at work to stay focused, routines you use to keep a desired cadence with an activity like date night, family night, gym time and so many others.
A routine provides a set of positive habits you engage in that help to manage stress, keeps things orderly, better yourself in different ways & allow you to get whatever you need completed.
Routines also represent investing in yourself. You will also prove to yourself you can complete goals & tasks by being consistent with your routine.
With stress, the more routines you establish that help you get things done more efficiently & with less friction, you will experience less stress. This also has to do with having a plan you’re in control of. And, since you have a routine that cares of many things you no longer have to think too hard about, you have more time & capacity to make the best decisions you can on other things that aren’t constant.
I personally like routines because these are generally something I am in control of. I create the routine (normally) & dictate how it works & make it work best for me. This is even in times where we are challenging ourselves to be better at something, it’s still in our control. And to that note, it feels even better that we choose to do the work because we wanted to & knew we didn’t have to. Control freaks know what I’m talking about.
So today I want to share with you 5 tips for creating the best routines for your life that will work best for you:
