Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!
Thank you so much for joining me again!
Happy Friday!
This week's theme for the podcast is: Patience!
Patience is a skill that every single one of us needs & can work on. Practicing patience within different parts of our lives may seem easy, but it's important to think about how we act while practicing it & evaluate if it was worth it for our desired outcome. Whether or not you feel like you are winning at the patience game, please join me this week for some tips on how to dominate this skill!
Here are some great ideas on how to become better at practicing patience!
Here are some notes from today's episode:
- Define what your goal is & be sure it is something you actually want.
- There is nothing worse than putting some much time & effort into something & using up all your patience on something you aren’t that passionate about.
- And if you want to be super dedicated to creating the best goals, you should do it using the SMART method (created by BryanWrightTLS).
- The SMART Method says goals should be: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant & Timely.
- Also break down your goals into smaller sections so that it is more attainable.
- Another tip is to change your perspective. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself to do everything perfect from the first time. That right there is setting unrealistic expectations.
- This is also pertinent when other people are involved. Think of it from their perspective of them trying their best to help/serve you & think how grateful they may be if you continue to practice patience with them.
- Identify your triggers that cause you to not be patient. Triggers are conditions that elicit a response. Examples are: being tired, hungry, talking about a sensitive subject, getting your feelings hurt, ect.
- Identifying your triggers will help you become more self aware & prevent yourself from acting out in a negative way.
- Lastly, take time to actually enjoy the process. Enjoy the journey.
Please share this podcast with anyone that may need this encouragement!
