Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!

Thank you so much for joining me again!

Happy Friday!

This week's theme for the podcast is: How to Create A Meaningful Morning Routine

I know a morning routine may not be for everyone, but it has been proven to be extremely helpful with those that suffer from anxiety, depression, BPD & several other mental health struggles. In general, having a routine is helpful for mental stability & setting yourself up for success & a positive mindset.

Here are some ideas on how to create a meaningful morning routine that helps me best.

Here are some notes from today's episode:

  • This is especially true if you work from home. I know it can be tempting to just sit in bed & scroll on your phone for an hour & then fall back asleep, but it’s necessary that you get up, get dressed, maybe do your hair & face routine & feel ready for the day. You will feel more productive just getting ready, even if you go nowhere.
  • And maybe you don’t need to get all the way ready every single day, especially if most of your day is spent at home.
  • You can have different levels of getting ready, as long as it includes changing your clothes, getting a shower in, brushing your teeth and maybe combing your hair.
  • Getting ready can be one of the best things to do to get you out of a funk.
  • If you are having a terrible day, woke up on the wrong side of the bed, not feeling well, try to gussy yourself up a bit.
  • Since quarantine started, if I just simply put a bra on and wash my face and fix my hair before I sit down at my desk to work, I feel a million times better.
  • Now maybe you’re like, Ok, I will shower, but I want to stay in pajamas. Ok, do that, but don’t spend all day in bed.
  • Makes sure you get up and move to a different spot in your home and try to separate your bed from work (if that’s what you are doing) or to just separate sleeping venue from living & waking venue.
