Is the Bible the Third Person of the Trinity? Absolutely not! Yet, some accuse those who have a high view of Scripture that they replace the Holy Spirit with the Bible as if it was the third person of the Trinity. Of course, the charge is not accurate, but what is it concerning some with a high view of Scripture that would instigate such an accusation, whether in jest or not? When we discuss the sufficiency of Scripture, are we speaking about the Bible as if it were omnipotent? Or does the Holy Spirit play an active role in the power of the Word of God? This is an important question because the answer will shape the reality and experience of God.
