A practicing doctor in the UK, Samantha Wellapilli, has suffered from burnout and speaks to us all about her healing journey.
Dr. Samantha Wellappili is a sought after mentor inspiring to smart women to awaken and align their Soul’s purpose with deep self-love without wasting years stuck in a cycle of people pleasing and disappointment.
She brings a wealth of experience from lifestyle medicine plus her knowledge of the energy body through yoga and energy medicine to her work with clients who seemed to “have it all” yet struggled with anxiety and feelings of not being good enough. She has over 15 years of experience in the co-creation of deeply rooted self-worth and refined connection to intuition forming a pathway to Soul Purpose.
Samantha has worked with leading health professionals, corporate groups, and high-flying women around the globe and this has led her to hone her skills to guide smart, successful women who find themselves unhappy and disillusioned. They often have excelled, followed the rules and have done everything they were "supposed to", but find themselves at a fork in the road. Samantha developed the Life and Soul Medicine methodology to support and guide these women to find their spark again, that worthiness and Soul Purpose that lights the way forward.
Some nuggets:
Sleeping isn’t necessarily relaxing. What do we do to take time to relax ourselves? Do we have time in nature time at the garden
Healthcare workers seem to be regarded as immune to (the burnout the menthol health issues etc ) so who supports the healthcare workers ? Who heals the healers? It feels like it's an area which is kind of overlooked. There is some (support) but culturally, it is seen as a weakness … if you are calling in sick, etc.
Episode Quote: As a healthcare worker I was one of the worst, the vending machine was full of energy drinks and chocolate bars. It’s so easy to make bad choices because we’re exhausted and it’s a treat. But we are health advocates!
Self Care Tip: Box Breathing - She practices this in between patients. 4 rounds of box breathing has helped her to calm her nervous system and destress between events.
Take a look at what you're eating and drinking over the day. Watch how your body is showing you that you are inflamed and under stress. It could be an IBS flare up, acne, or other signs.
