Traffic Secrets - Secret #10

Hopefully you have already listened to episode #24 where Russell shared Secret #1 from his new book, Traffic Secrets, Your Dream Customer. In today's episode we share Secret #10 - Instagram Traffic Secrets!

Step #1 - Understand the history and the goal.

Russell explains the history of Instagram and two key ways that you can leverage the platform to gain exposure for your business.

Step #2 - Find your Dream 100.

Find your dream 100 influencers and follow them on Instagram. Spend time each day to engage in their posts with likes and comments so that you can see how they are engaging with their followers because this is what you will want to emulate.

Step #3 - Identify your the publishing strategy and create your publishing plan.

Russell goes in to detail about how to create hooks and share stories to engage your audience. The intention is to:

• Inspire
• Educate
• Entertain

Another key aspect is to ask questions which will prompt engagement from your audience which shows them that you want to listen - people love to be heard!

Use relevant Hashtags in your messages so that your reach is expanded and ultimately you will make an offer to your audience once credibility has been established.

Russell also explains how to use Instagram videos, stories, and lives to further enhance your status as an expert.

Step #4 - Work your way in.

By using the previous steps you will start showing up in people's feeds in addition to the feeds of your dream 100. Once this is in place you tap into the audience of your dream 100 with IGTV and Russell describes how to do this effectively.

Step #5 - Buy your way in.

If you want to quickly grow your Instagram following you can do so by engaging your dream 100 and paying them to give you a "Shout out" on their feed. Because they have 1000's of followers they can use the "Swipe-up" feature to send people to a clickable link where you sell your product.

Step #6 - Fill your funnel.

The final step is to convert the traffic into traffic that you earn, in other words capture their email address. Russell describes the process for doing this effectively.

Building your following takes time and effort but with these steps that Russell shares you will be one step ahead of many other entrepreneurs.
