Henry, Augi Schmitz and blockchain developer Steven Lubka welcome guest, Dr. Jerry Beinhauer, a veteran physician and serial entrepreneur. He and his team of co-founders launched Tampa Bay based Appley Health, www.appleyhealth.com , earlier this year. By using smart contracts on their proprietary blockchain network, they enable employers to automate many functions currently carried out by insurance companies, completely removing the need for them to administer these health plans
Appley Health is building a three-pronged solution for healthcare disruption that includes:
1) a blockchain-based, network ecosystem that is designed to enable direct, peer-to-peer interacting, contracting, and transacting between consumers of healthcare services and providers;
2) a vendor marketplace that is tied to this network to serve as the access point for the delivery of products and services to the members; and,
3) API access to participating provider members’ electronic medical record systems to facilitate robust services and applications via the marketplace to dynamically access patient data to drive increased wellness, quality, and lower costs.
