This is the RAIN Hamcast Podcast #80, posted 11-26-22. Voiced by Will Rogers/K5WLR.
[The running time for this RAIN Hamcast Podcast is 10M3S with timer resets at 3, 6, and 9M]
Will Rogers, K5WLR continues the thread we followed the last two RAIN Hamcast Podcasts about the upcoming January, 2023 DXpedition to Bouvet Island. It seemed logical to take a look at hamcationing closer to home in the Caribbean.
Imagine: You're relaxing on a Caribbean Island, enjoying a cocoloco. The warm, prevailing trade winds softly rustle the large pond fronds shading the nearby pristine beaches; the blue Caribbean Sea gently bathes your feet. Across the way in a thatched hut is a complete ham station.
"Only in your dreams" you say? Not at all! Doug Cline, K4LT (formerly WD8AUV) has hamcationed in the Caribbean a number of times. Here’s an excerpt from his 1997 Dayton Hamvention forum talk, "Hamcationing in the Caribbean".
