TOPIC: Pro-Life OUTPOSTS Counties with Highest Abortion Rates in U.S. Getting New Pregnancy Centers

On November 11, 2024, CompassCare opened its newest medical office in Brooklyn, one of two new locations to launch in the coming weeks. This expansion is particularly significant as Brooklyn and The Bronx represent the counties with the highest number of abortions in the United States, and CompassCare is the only pro-life medical center in both boroughs. Despite increasing threats from both state and local authorities—particularly after the passage of New York's Proposal One, which enshrined abortion as a constitutional right—CompassCare remains committed to providing ethical, life-affirming alternatives for women facing unintended pregnancies.

In the wake of this proposal's passage, Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James launched the Empire State Freedom Initiative, a task force aimed at identifying “any possible threats” to abortion rights. This move has raised concerns that pro-life centers like CompassCare could be targeted with civil or criminal litigation simply for their refusal to refer or provide abortions, which could carry heavy fines or even jail time.
