Q: “What is the biggest benefit that a podcast booker brings to the table?”

A: Expertise. Network and Relationships. Quality. Bandwidth. Insight. Efficiency.

Most entrepreneurs and business owners agree that specialists are better than generalists, or worse, novices.

Podcast booking agents possess a nuanced understanding of host preferences and listener interests, relationships, and insider knowledge because it’s all they do. Specialization matters. While assistants and VAs can handle outreach, their success often taps out at low-hanging opportunities.

I spend over $10k a year going to conferences and events in the industries my clients work in.

I don’t do this to get more clients; I do it because I know podcast hosts and producers are there and I want to rub shoulders with them. This not only builds my relationships with them, but also let’s me learn what they are looking for.

I even fly with clients to larger interviews to get 1-on-1 time with the hosts.

I’m an investor and have started and run several businesses, and I use that experience to help craft compelling topics that I believe will benefit the listener of a podcast. Most assistants simply can’t contribute that kind of perspective.

You can get interviews by asking your assistant or VA to find podcasts to pitch you, but you’re going to see higher quality results faster if you work with a podcast booking agent.
