NPC stands for 'Non-Playable Character'. This is a term in video games that describes all the other characters in the video game that are run by the program that is running the video game. PCs are 'Playable Characters' , which are characters in the video game, controlled by real humans (like you and me... "hopefully") who display free thought and free will. Unlike NPC's who follow a pre programmed script that dictates how they think, behave and speak.  If we are living in a simulation then which one of us are real critical thinking, loving and caring  human beings and which one of us are just mindless projections of this simulation? As you can see I've been doing a lot of mushrooms this week.
