The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has impacted virtually every country, forever changing the lives of many of the world’s citizens. Lost in all of this, is the rapid propagation of misinformation on the internet and on social media, described succinctly by the term ‘infodemic’. The Public Health Insight Team discusses the negative public health impacts of misinformation and the general public’s responsibility in helping to stop the spread.
