7: Dan Korpman | How to be a Successful Financial Advisor (Part I)

In part I of this two-part episode Dan Korpman describes how to be a successful financial advisor, his background growing up in the financial services industry, the methods for becoming successful and some of the common mistakes to avoid while trying to become a financial advisor.

Dan serves as the Managing Director of Alpha Strategies, an investment consulting firm that discovers alternative investment opportunities for highly sophisticated investors. Dan previously helped spearhead the creation of Anfield Advisors, the financial planning division of Anfield Capital Management. 

Dan is actively involved in the venture capital and startup community in the areas of fintech and live streaming events. He has also been recognized for his work in real estate development, reputation and social media brand management, seed capitalization and was recently appointed as an Advisory Board member for IROCKE.com.

Outside of these professional activities, Dan also serves on multiple non-profit boards including The Literacy Project Foundation, Legacy of Hope: The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Initiative, and Orange Country Green Chamber. Dan earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Information and Technology and a Business Leadership Minor degree from Virginia Tech, where he served as President of The Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity during his sophomore year.
