For more than 25 years, Bill Moree has been telling the stories of candidates and causes through the lens of his camera. One of the movement's leading advertising photographers, Bill has worked with some of the biggest agencies on our side of the aisle. If you have gotten a mail piece in the last 20 years, the likelihood that you have seen his work is high.

His career began young, went through ups and downs, and then took a drastic turn on September 11, 2001. After shooting for financial institutions for years, he began exploring political photography as a way to continue doing what he loves, while utilizing his skills to help progressives and Democrats win, and potentially earn a living along the way. It hasn't always been easy, and along the way, he has learned something about himself. He takes beautiful pictures of people, capturing their authentic stories, and he struggles with the business management side of his work. Those struggles inspired him to become an MPX Professional and become one of the pioneers of MPX's Freelancer and Specialist Support services. With his help, MPX developed a system that enables him and others like him to contribute their skills to the progressive movement, while maintaining their focus on clients and what drives revenue, rather than on business management.

In this episode, Bill shares his talents, stories, and struggles as a freelancer in the political space.
