Savitri returns home to her father’s palace to tell her parents that she has found Satyavan, the mate she was searching for. Narad, the all-knowing Divine messenger is waiting there to tell her the fate of her marriage. Narad knows all about what has happened to Savitri and what is going to happen to her. But he hides his thoughts in his all-knowing mind and asks her where she has been. The end of his speech is a veiled warning of approaching doom, but most people do not hear it. Savitri’s father, King Aswapathy hears the veiled warning. He asks the Divine Singer to chant the Divine blessing of a sorrowless life for his beautiful daughter.
