In this important episode I discuss the all too little talked about subject of burnout in birthwork. My guest Jennifer Santos is a a former childbirth educator, former doula and current certified nurse-midwife working with parents and birth workers in a state of overwhelm to provide information, support and evidence-supported interventions to move them from burnout to bliss.

When disability took Jennifer out of clinical practice in 2018, the first thing she noticed was that she was suffering from PTSD and burnout that she hadn’t even had time to notice while  in the trenches.  With her return to clinical practice in doubt, she became certified in a few new skills, including helping people process distressing birth memories.  Watching from the sidelines in 2020, Jennifer read about people leaving the work in droves - the work that was their calling, that was so important to them and was so needed in the world and she vowed to do something about it - and the Burnout to Bliss Solution for Birthworkers was “born”!
