Not only does the exodus tell the story of God’s people being delivered from Egypt, it also illustrates redemptive themes seen throughout the Scripture.  

The Wilderness Journey represents the transformation process that occurs in the people of God between their deliverance from sin and their arrival in heaven.   

Sanctification struggles are ultimately trust issues.  

God will orchestrate “trust exams” throughout our lives to aid in our transformation.  

Numbers 13-14

people struggle to trust God because

·      They overvalue their own wisdom

·      They ignore the promises of God.

·      They forget God’s past faithfulness.

trust issues are dangerous

·      They are contagious.

·      They cause irrationality.

·      They hurt those you love the most.

Steps to living by faith

Obey immediately when God is leading.

Find strong believers and listen to them.

Remember that God has earned your trust.

Focus on the cross of Jesus.
